How it works

1. Sign up for a ⁨Kikoff Credit Account⁩

You’ll be instantly approved so you can get started that same day. We don’t do a credit check. We definitely don’t do a hard pull on your account, which could negatively impact your score.

2. Buy something on credit

You’ll have a $⁨750⁩ line of credit to use for Kikoff purchases. This doesn’t expire, so you can continue building your credit on your schedule. Choose from a variety of items from our store, starting at just $10. You’ll make your purchase with the ⁨Kikoff Credit Account⁩.

3. Build payment history every month

Every on-time payment you make will help you build your credit. All it takes is one click—and we’ll send you reminders to make sure. The first payment will be due around three weeks after you make your purchase. Then they’ll be on the same day of the month, every month. You can keep track of your remaining balance and credit score at any time, on your Kikoff account.

How Kikoff helps

The Credit Account addresses three key factors that determine your credit score: payment history, credit utilization, and average account age.

Payment History

This is the single most important factor in your credit score. Payment history looks at whether you’ve paid past credit bills on time. The ⁨Credit Account⁩ encourages a long payment history, giving you maximized credit building power. We’ll report each of your monthly payments to the major credit bureaus. Each report builds your payment history—and your credit.

Credit Utilization

This is the ratio of how much credit you’ve used to how much you can use, or your credit limit. The lower this ratio, the better for your credit. We designed the ⁨Credit Account⁩ for extremely low utilization rates. Our store items start at only $10, which means buying one on credit could run you a rate of only 2%.

Account Age

The older your accounts, the better. The ⁨Credit Account⁩ doesn’t expire—so keeping it open will continue to increase your average account age. When you initially open a ⁨Credit Account⁩, you may notice your account age drops. But remember this drop is only short term! Starting a new account can bring your average age down—but keeping it open will push that age up. Opening a ⁨Credit Account⁩ gives you a long term positive with age.

How much does Kikoff cost? A flat $5/month for Credit Service.

Kikoff is not responsible for any bank fees. Competitor secured credit cards refers to secured credit cards other than Kikoff.

Kikoff is a credit-building service designed to help you build credit safely and responsibly. Our products are designed to target the 5 major credit score factors.
- Credit Account - this is our primary product: a revolving line of credit designed to address the 3 key factors of your credit score: payment history, credit utilization, and age of accounts.
- Secured Credit Card - this is a secured credit card product that safely builds your payment history through your everyday transactions. The Secured Credit Card works like a debit card but has the benefits of a credit card.
Kikoff offers multiple products.
- The Credit Account is a revolving line of credit that gets reported to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You are able to use the Kikoff Credit Account to finance the purchase of goods and services from Kikoff. Unlike a credit card, the Kikoff Credit Account can only be used to make purchases from Kikoff (e.g. can’t buy gas or groceries). There is no physical card with the Kikoff Credit Account.
- The Secured Credit Card is a secured credit card on the Mastercard network that works like a checking account and debit card. The funds that are deposited set the credit limit of the card so you never have to worry about overspending or due dates.
On average, customers with credit scores under 600 increase their credit scores by 58 points[1], with consistent on-time payments during the account lifetime. Many Kikoff customers have been able to qualify for better car loans, mortgages, credit cards, personal loans, and more.
Keep in mind, credit building is a long-term habit – like eating healthy or working out – so the most important thing is to make good financial habits: make your payments on-time, keep your utilization low, and practice good financial habits.

Kikoff is an official data furnisher to the 3 major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
Kikoff reports your accounts every month, at the start of the month. Please note we report to different bureaus, depending on which accounts you have:
- Credit Account reports to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
- The Secured Credit Card (optional add-on) reports to Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. We require a minimum deposit of $50 required to be reported.
- With the Credit Account, there are no additional fees. You are responsible for paying back any purchases financed by the Kikoff Credit Account, but there are no additional interest fees, late fees, or other fees.
- Using the Secured Credit Card, you can access your funds without any additional fees from over 55,000 ATMs in the Kikoff network conveniently located in Walgreens, Target, CVS, and more. Any ATMs outside of the Allpoints network will be subject to a $2.50 Kikoff fee in addition to any ATM fees.
